You know when you’re teaching and every so often there’s the loud-mouthed know-it-all at the back who you’re convinced has enrolled just to show off how much more they know about a subject than the tutor? At the end of week three I’m worried that I’m coming across as that person. I’m hoping I’ve redeemed myself with the ideas and information I’ve shared.
I’m also reassured, again, that I do know what I’m talking about, and have plenty of scope to share lots of useful information with others. So, I suppose what this week has done has helped me identify my unconscious competence and all those things I take for granted, and look at my peers on the course and see that there is still a big journey in the use of ILT for many tutors and trainers. What I say to those peers is not to be afraid to experiment, we all started somewhere and there are plenty of people around who are far more knowledgeable than me and we can all learn from each other. I’m sure I will learn loads in tonight’s #LTHEchat on Twitter.
